ExportWeb provides an efficient, simple solution for U.S. exporters to classify their products under the appropriate:

Two Methods for Identifying an ECCN*

1. Export Classification Control Number (ECCN), which is required to make a license determination for an export product controlled by the Commerce Department, or to prepare a Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) or other documents, or
2. Category of the U.S. Munitions List to determine whether their export products are controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) enforced by the State Department, and therefore require a license for export.

Confidential Database

ExportWeb also allows a company to maintain a secure, confidential Product Database containing their company’s product code(s), product descriptions, and ECCNs and USML Categories previously determined and entered into the system. ExportWeb identifies the user who made the classification and the date that the classification was established.

Up-to-Date Database

The data that underlies ExportWeb’s Finder is updated within hours of any changes to the CCL or the USML.

* While ExportWeb provides a user-friendly way to facilitate export product classification, the final designation of an ECCN or USML Category is the responsibility of the exporter.
